Isfahan starts hosting 32nd ICFF

The 32nd Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth is opened in Iranian city of Isfahan.

The 32nd edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth (ICFF) has been opened at Ghadir Park in the central Iranian city of Isfahan.

Starting from Monday evening, the opening ceremony kicked off with a message from Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Abbas Salehi.

Part of the message read “The speedy progress of today world has changed the life of humanity in different areas, including culture. However, it promises a gradual, evolutionary change in children, and the Isfahan festival has taken new steps to achieve this path, promising new developments.”

Then the festival director Alireza Tabesh expressed thanks to all the participants, Iranian and foreign guests, and the art and culture officials of Isfahan for their great help in organizing the event.

A lineup of 11 animated movies and nine short films has been selected from different countries to be screened at the festival.

The organizers also announced earlier that a selection of movies honored at different editions of the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France will go on screen during the 32nd ICFF.

A selection of 12 Iranian animations and 10 Iranian short films are competing at the national section of the festival.

A lineup of eight features and animations by Danish filmmakers are being reviewed during a special program.

The festival has also planned to review some films and animations from Georgia and Tatarstan.

According to the 32nd ICFF website, the event aims to enhance the cinematic products of this age bracket and introduce the top works in national and international arenas.

The festival aims to promote ethical values such as family unity, appropriate lifestyle, respect for humanity, self-esteem, social responsibility, environmental protection and it also seeks to create awareness of the uprising future challenges.

The ICFF is organized annually by the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs, Farabi Cinema Foundation and the Municipality of Isfahan.

The 32nd ICFF is slated for August 19-26, 2019 in the Iranian historic city of Isfahan.
